Lucky bow fisherman sticks two potential state records on Friday the 13th

For awhile on May 13, Derek Mueth suspected superstition or something was working against him. He had stuck a 71.3-pound bighead carp – the state record is 59.4 pounds – only to watch the fish disappear under the river’s surface. But all ended well, as the Paderborn bow fisherman was able to land the carp.
He also stuck and landed a 33-pound silver carp, which is expected to also be a new state record.
Mueth has applied through DNR for both state records.
