Metro Area Fishing Report – March 25th, 2016

Pool 4 on the Mississippi River continues to be the best option for walleyes and sauger. Most area lakes have been ice-free since last week, but there haven’t been any crappie bites reported at this point.

The lakes are wide open, but there hasn’t been a lot of fishing taking place at this point. As the water warms, look for those shallow, traditional spring spots to start holding crappies.

The ice went completely out last Tuesday, March 15, but the bait shop and marina will remain closed until the dock work is done and they are put in place. Watch for potential opening dates for both in the next week to 10 days.
