Metro Area Fishing Report – April 17th, 2015

NORTHEAST METRO

Crappie action has picked up considerably this week in the bays and shallow shorelines areas of Lake Jane, Demontreville Lake and Olson Lake. The marinas on the St. Croix River, the north end of Bald Eagle Lake, and White Bear Lake also have given up crappies.

WEST METRO

Lake Parley and Rietz Lake started giving up crappies in 6 to 10 feet, but these fish will move shallower, possibly as soon as this weekend. On Lake Bavaria, crappies are being found in 8 to 10 feet. Look for them to move into the shallow bays and shorelines.

LAKE WACONIA

The bait shop and boat access will open this Friday for the season. There has been some crappies being caught in 10 to 14 feet, but look for these fish to continue moving shallower, in the bays and along docks, as the water warms.
