Wisconsin Congressmen Ryan is keynote speaker at Pheasant Fest

St. Paul, Minn. — Pheasants Forever will welcome Wisconsin’s First District Congressman Paul Ryan to its National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic event on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Milwaukee.

Ryan will deliver the keynote address at the conservation group’s national banquet that evening. The National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic runs Feb. 14-16 at the Wisconsin Center.

“I’m looking forward to speaking at this year’s event,” Ryan said. “I’m a big outdoorsman, so I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts on how we can preserve our nation’s wildlife habitats.”

“On behalf of Pheasants Forever’s 140,000 members nationwide, including our 33 chapters and 9,000 members in Wisconsin, we’re honored to welcome Congressman Ryan to Pheasants Forever’s signature annual gathering,” said Dave Nomsen, Pheasants Forever’s vice president of governmental affairs. “Having served as co-chair of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, Congressman Ryan has been supportive of many conservation measures. He also brings valuable perspective on how Congress can better serve wildlife and habitat in these times of shrinking federal conservation spending.”

Pheasants Forever’s national banquet will be at the Wisconsin Center Ballroom CD (first floor). Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7:30 pm. Tickets are still available and may be ordered online.

National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic 2014 presented by MidwayUSA combines a national consumer show, habitat seminar series, and family event complete with puppies, tractors, shotguns, and art.

This annual gathering has grown into the nation’s largest event for upland hunters, farmers, sport dog owners, and wildlife habitat conservationists.

Programs during the day include training dogs to help find shed antlers, wild game cooking, training pointing dogs, deer management, deer diseases, introducing women to shooting sports, and pheasant management. Landowners will find a landowner help room where biologists will provide ideas on land management.
