SD: Game, Fish and Parks to Host Meetings on Missouri River Fisheries

PIERRE, S.D. – Interested members of the public are invited to a
series of meetings that will be held in early February to discuss
2011 Missouri River flood impacts on reservoir fisheries in South
Dakota.

Department of Game, Fish and Parks staff will present 2011
Missouri River fisheries data and discuss the impacts that historic
flows on the Missouri River may have on those popular
fisheries.

“Anglers have many questions about last year’s Missouri River
flooding,” said Mark Fincel, GFP senior fisheries biologist. “Our
staff did flood-monitoring throughout the high-water period, and
these meetings are a good chance for the public to learn the
results of that sampling.”

Meeting dates, times and locations are as follows:

· Feb. 1, 7 p.m., Rapid City, Outdoor Campus West (just off
Sturgis Road)

· Feb. 6, 7 p.m., Fort Pierre, Holiday Inn Express

· Feb. 8, 7 p.m., Sioux Falls, Outdoor Campus East, 4500 S. Oxbow
Ave.

· Feb. 9, 7 p.m., Aberdeen, Ramada Inn, 2727 6th Ave. SE
