LINCOLN, Neb. – Alexandria State Recreation Area is hosting a
carp-fishing camp Sept. 10 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m., according to the
Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
Participants can camp the night before, then fish in the
morning. They must bring their own fishing equipment, and have a
park entry permit and a fishing license. There will be information
on baits and carp-catching techniques, as well as demonstrations on
cleaning and cooking carp. Prizes will be awarded for the largest
carp caught by hook-and-line and bow.
Alexandria SRA is located 3 miles east of Alexandria in
Jefferson County.
