Look for walleyes in the Prescott area of the St. Croix River in
five to nine feet or 17 to 20 feet. The south side of the island on
Bald Eagle Lake has produced walleyes in 17 to 20 feet. There’s
shallow panfish action coming off Olson Lake, Lake Jane, Lake
Pokegama, and Tanners Lake. Plastics have been the ticket for bass
in the shallows of lakes Jane, Olson, and Demonterville. Northern
pike are inhaling sucker minnows in four to six feet at Silver

Jigs and plastics are turning bass in 12 to 14 feet on Pierson
Lake, Lake Zumbra, and Lake Minnewashta. Sucker minnows continue to
trigger pike at the fishing dock on Steiger Lake. You’ll find
panfish in less than six feet on Lake Parley, Hydes Lake, and the
south end of Lotus Lake.

Most five- to eight-foot docks are holding crappies. Look for
sunfish in shallow water between the two marinas and Wagener’s Bay.
Slow-rolling spinnerbaits has been best for bass on the tops of
Cemetery Reef, Keggs Reef, and Center Reef. A few walleyes can be
had on a jig and fathead minnow along the 12- to 14-foot
