Fishermen have been enjoying some good bluegill and crappie action, and the bass fishing has been pretty good, too. The bigger bass have been found in deeper water on smaller lakes. Madison Area

Boat speeds are still limited on the Madison chain. Lakes Monona and Waubesa are totally no-wake, and Mendota and Kegonsa have no-wake limits for the first 500 feet out from shore. On Mendota, there is a spotty perch bite, with some guys doing OK along 20-foot breaks, such as the one west of Governor’s Island.
