Shootings suspect pleads not guilty

Associated Press Hayward, Wis. A man accused of shooting six deer hunters to death and wounding two others after they caught him trespassing in some northwestern Wisconsin woods pleaded not guilty last week. Madison, Wis. (AP) Wisconsin residents and tourists will have to pay more to hunt and fish, pitch tents, and stroll along shorelines in the next two years if the Wisconsin DNR has its way.

The budget proposal the state Natural Resources Board approved recently calls for $21.2 million in fee increases over the next two-year state budget. Most would come from a range of hunting and fishing license fee increases, but almost $3 million would come from increasing state park admission and camping fees. DNR budget director Joe Polasek
