St. Paul The Minnesota DNR officially will recognize five new state record fish during an awards ceremony at the Northwest Sportshow at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The ceremony will begin at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 8.

New records were set this year for tullibee (5 pounds, 11.8 ounces), silver redhorse (8 pounds, 4 ounces), white crappie (3 pounds, 6 ounces, set Jan. 23), white crappie (3 pounds, 10 ounces, set July 28), and yellow bullhead (3 pounds, 10 ounces). St. Paul The 21st Annual Minnesota Deer Classic will take place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, March 14-16.

Nearly 200 exhibitors will present a full range of products for archery and firearms deer hunters. Blaine, Minn. The Minnesota Muskie Expo comes to the National Sports Center in Blaine, from March 7-9. The show features boats and tackle, taxidermists, wildlife art, and seminar speakers such as Pete Maina, Jack Burns, and Jim Saric.

Show hours are 2-9 p.m. Friday, March 7; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 8; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9. Cost for admission is $7, with those age 12 and under admitted free. A weekend pass costs $12. For more information, call (763) 588-9107.
