Sept. 28: Canada goose season opens in the South Canada goose
zone (including the Rock Prairie and Mississippi River Subzones). A
94-day season is possible but will close early if hunters reach
state quota.
Sept. 30: Trout season on inland waters and on rivers flowing
into Lake Superior closes (unless listed otherwise in trout
regulations). Lake trout season on Lake Superior closes.
Sept. 30: Collins and Horicon zone Canada goose hunting periods
2 open and runs through Oct. 4, then reopens noon Oct. 5 and runs
through Oct. 27 in the Collins and Nov. 3 in Horicon zone.
Sept. 28: Duck (except canvasback), coots and merganser season
opens at noon in Northern Zone and runs through Nov. 26 with no
split season.
Oct. 5: Southern duck zone opens at noon and runs through Oct.
13, closes and reopens Oct. 19 through Dec. 8.
Oct. 12 – Nov. 10: Fall turkey.
Oct. 19 – Dec. 31: Ring-necked pheasant season.
Oct. 19 – Nov. 10: Sharp-tailed grouse season.
Oct. 19 – Dec. 11: Bobwhite quail season.
Oct. 19 – Dec. 31: Gray (Hungarian) partridge season (closed in
Clark, Marathon, and Taylor counties).
Oct. 19 – Feb. 28: Southern Zone cottontail rabbit.
Oct. 19 – Nov. 15: Jackrabbit.
Oct. 19 – Dec. 31: Bobcat hunting/trapping north of Hwy. 64.
Nov. 23: General statewide gun deer season opens, continues
through Dec. 1
Dec. 2-11: Muzzleloader deer hunting season.
Dec. 2 : Late archery deer opens and continues through Jan.
