St. Paul Minnesota hunters are being advised to wear gloves when they butcher game birds this fall to avoid any possible risk of infection with the West Nile virus.

Officials at the Minnesota Department of Health and DNR emphasize the risk of infection, simply from handling an infected bird, is small. Wearing gloves, they said, is a reasonable precaution.
