Coon Rapids, Minn. The body of a Brooklyn Center fisherman was recovered Sunday afternoon in the Mississippi River, a day after the man fell near the city’s dam.

Leng Xiong, 25, was fishing downriver from the Coon Rapids Dam
when he apparently slipped on algae-covered rocks and fell into the
swift waters about 7 p.m. Saturday, said Anoka County Sheriff Sgt.
Paul Ireland.

Divers struggled with the river’s large rocks and unpredictable
currents during the search for Xiong’s body.
