St. Paul A five-mile section of the Minnesota Valley State Trail that runs along the northern edge of Minnesota Valley Recreational Area has been closed indefinitely due to trail erosion.

The closure includes the section of trail that runs along the Minnesota River between County Road 9 and the Trail Center at the Lawrence Unit.
