In his first tip of the open-water season for 2025, Hall of Fame angler “Tackle” Terry Tuma talks about different dressings for jigs when out crappie fishing.
Get a good hook set for finnicky fish and expect that bigger sunfish will pull down more on the rod compared to a quick vibrating motion for smaller fish.
Be prepared for what may happen by monitoring the weather ahead of time and be for tougher bite conditions as no one specific bait or lure may work during these times.
According to “Tackle” Terry Tuma, the key is to open the bale to drop your lure and then close the bale manually. Also make sure the line is taut and is on the roller guide.
