High winds and cooler temperatures continue to slow the bite. Rivers and streams are experiencing lower water levels. Fly hatches have been slightly delayed this year with the cold weather.
High winds and cooler temperatures continue to slow the bite. Rivers and streams are experiencing lower water levels. Fly hatches have been slightly delayed this year with the cold weather.
The biggest news has been some decent smallmouth bass, yellow perch, and northern pike action.
Cold and windy conditions have slowed fishing. April 24 is the walleye and pike opener for the Lower Peninsula inland waters. The statewide trout opener on all Type 1 and Type 2 streams as well as all Type A and Type D trout lakes is also this Saturday, April 24.
The good news is that anyone who would like to do some kind of fishing will find something to suit their interests throughout the state.
