After the cold front that arrived prior to Memorial Day weekend and carried into last week, weather conditions stabilized a bit more and walleyes seem to be responding in most areas.

Crappies saved the week for many groups as they made a serious push into shallow water areas, such as bulrushes, submerged wood, docks and shoreline spots.

Fishing action better than average on the opener.
