On Lake Erie tributaries, some anglers have reported better steelhead action over the past week despite the colder weather.

Winter is soon to arrive, and anglers await first safe ice.

Fishing pressure has been light, but for the few die-hards still getting out some of the best fishing of the year has been happening.

When weather and water conditions have been good, steelhead fishing on northeast Ohio rivers has followed suit.

Fishing has been good, although pressure has been low. But still catching steelheads on the rivers and walleye on Erie, and the perch bite remains hot on Lake St. Clair.

All Erie area tributaries have Steelhead in great numbers.

These days, it’s all about the bass. The regular black bass season closes Nov. 30, but the catch-and-release season continues in all but a few northern counties.

The night walleye bite on Lake Erie has been off the charts and northeast Ohio steelheading is going well, too.

The few anglers still getting out are finding a very good perch bite in Lake St. Clair and Lake Huron’s Saginaw Bay.
