Trout stream conditions across much of the state in recent weeks have been near perfect for many waters most of the time, and anglers mostly have been doing well.
The crappie bite has been good all across the state.
Bass getting most of the attention as state waterways/fisheries warm up.
Yes, it’s very early, but anglers are starting to catch crappies and panfish from boats and from shore.
Mid-April should find trout anglers in all their glory. A few exceptions may be at higher elevations where ice-out tends to come later than other parts of the state. Trout stocking should also be intensifying
Finally, we have some ice fishing to report in northeast Ohio on lakes such as Mogadore, Nimisila, and Wingfoot.
The barometric pressure was all over the place this past week and that definitely impacted the fishing success. But folks are getting out and catching some fish. Check out this week’s report to find out
There seems to be better numbers of fish being caught in deep water this week, even after dark, in about 20 to 30 feet.
It’s walleye catching time on a number of big rivers across the state.
