Devils Lake is heating up and bobbers with leeches have been the go-to this past week.

Slip-bobbers with leeches and jigs with purple or blue paddle tails have been the go-to the past few days when it comes to shallow walleyes.

It has been a windy and wet start to the month of May but that hasn’t stop a few people from getting out.

The ice season is still holding on here on Devils Lake. Here’s how conditions are faring with the warmer week we had and incoming wind.

The main sheet of ice on this fishery is holding up very well, with more than a 20-inch ice depth average throughout the lake.

Checking in from out on the Flats, where there was 22 inches of ice and a good walleye bite.
