North-country hunting and fishing trips inspired in the classic scene in Joe Hautman’s painting Autumn Twilight Moose. While deer hunting with his brothers, Hautman said he’s marveled at these creatures durning several close encounters over the years, including one at a place his family refers to as “Moose Mountain.” Hautman’s painting captures the regal magnificence of this impressive species of the Northern Hemisphere.

Joe Hautman is a 5-time Federal Duck Stamp winner (most recently a pair of Trumpeter Swans that appear on the 2016-2017 Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp.)
