With a significant cold front behind the snow early last week, there hasn’t been much fishing activity.
Anglers will find 3 to 5 inches of ice on the small lakes and bays, but thinner ice on the big, deep lakes. Panfish are being caught on Bear Trap Lake in 5 to 12
With early ice, there are not a lot of bites that have stood out up to this point.
The ice-fishing season has started and reports from most areas indicated that there should be increased fishing activity this weekend.
There are a few muskie anglers still going out and some shore fishing taking place, but that’s been about it.
Crappies remain active, being found suspended over deep water on most lakes.
What’s happening with the bite for Hayward area lakes, Chequamegon Bay, and Lake Superior.
Warm temperatures keeping fish from hitting full fall stride.
