A great walleye bite is going on in the clear-water lakes. Smallmouth bite also going strong.
The fishing has just been like the summer-like temperatures – hot. A lot of nice walleyes have been caught recently using a variety of presentations.
Pulling or drifting spinners with crawlers has really heated up on Lake of the Woods, with surface temps at about 73 degrees. Many nice limits are being caught.
They can cover the entire water column and work on all levels of activity from the fish from negative to aggressive and work in all water conditions from high and muddy to low and crystal-clear.
What’s working and where they’re biting on the Rainy River.
Water temps are shooting up, and the fish are changing patterns quick. Catching fish all kinds of ways, and we’re even seeing some summer-like tactics emerging already.
The various ways to jig up some walleyes and saugers still hold true.
