St. Paul (AP) Seven more sites in Minnesota have been designated as “Important Bird Areas” by the National Audubon Society as part of an effort to bring attention to critical places for birds suffering from habitat loss.
The areas include a string of sites on Lake Superior’s North Shore, Felton Prairies Complex, Itasca State Park, Hamden Slough National Wildlife Refuge, the Lower Minnesota River, Springbrook Nature Center in Fridley, and Murphy-Hanrahan Park
