Ice fishing had a good run this winter in Ohio, but the prospects for getting on the hard water are fading fast with warm temperatures and rain.

Ice fishing on inland lakes in Ohio is the best right now than it has been in a few years.

Ice fishing is going on at inland lakes across the state for crappies and saugeyes and anglers are walking onto Lake Erie from Catawba Island.

Steelhead anglers continue to ply the northeast Ohio tributaries, and they are having some success.

Ice fishing has finally arrived in the Buckeye State with anglers hitting Indian Lake and Lake Loramie fairly hard in recent days.

There isn’t any safe ice on any lake in Ohio just yet. But, anglers are continuing to fish open water, though fishing pressure in most places has been extremely light.

Steelhead fishing continues to be the top option on northeast Ohio Lake Erie tributaries.

Steelhead, walleye, yellow perch, and saugeyes are all on the Ohio angler’s menu right now.

Saugeye fishing has been hot – as in off the charts.
