As we slide into July, walleyes have become even more challenging with bug hatches, very warm weather, and increasing water temperatures all playing a part in noticeably slower walleye activity this week.
Summer fishing patterns are happening. Off-shore spots are kicking out fish and it’s a great time to supplement a few water sports to keep the kids entertained in between bites.
A stretch of hot days on the horizon, so might need a little more effort to coax those walleyes. And you’ll have to cover some water, too.
Things have changed a lot over the last week. Post-spawn bite going strong with smallmouths, particularly on topwater.
The wind has died down and the bug hatch is about done, so the walleye bite should be starting to pick up any day now on Lake Bemidji.
Weather conditions were more stable over the past week and that’s lead to some good walleye fishing.
Another great week to be on the water, and the wind actually took a break for a change. We’re moving nicely towards summer patterns – and check out a couple new hot baits this week.
