Intel gathering paddleboard trip on the St. Mary’s River proves beneficial.

Windy conditions continue to hamper fishing, especially on the Great Lakes and the bigger inland lakes. River fishing improved after the rain and much cooler temperatures, but will most likely slow again with the warmup.

Timing is everything, so get out early … or late, depending on which species you’re pursuing in the autumn.

In the DNR’s most recent survey of the status of the fishery on both Craig and Morrison lakes a total of 26 species were collected.

Fishing pressure has generally been light, except in rivers where salmon are running. Perch fishing has really picked up across the state.
