On Lake Michigan, a few early lake trout have shown up as the salmon are winding down.
Shore fishing picked up a bit with the rain and cold lake water here.
With river temps falling into the mid-60s, steelhead run picked up, with 500 going through the South Bend Fish Ladder in the last week or two.

A mixed bag of trout and salmon has been going up the tributaries here with the cooler weather, but given warm lake water, the biggest push of trout and salmon has not happened yet.
Anglers on this fishery are currently reporting they are catching largemouth bass up to 6 pounds, crappies of multiple sizes and bluegills up to 9 inches.
A few fresh steelhead, along with a few kings and coho, moved up with the cold water nearshore in combination with cold rain in the tributaries.
Panfish have moved into a deep summer pattern here.
