Salmon and trout anglers on Lake Huron could soon have another fish to target.

Advocates seeking to overturn a new state law that could lead to wolf hunting in Michigan said recently they had collected more than enough petition signatures to require a statewide referendum.

State officials plan to run walleye-rearing ponds at full capacity this year after several years of slowed production and selective stocking tied to viral hemorrhagic septicemia, a deadly fish disease.
