Hunting preserves won’t be allowed to possess boars

This year more than most, the DNR’s August roadside wildlife counts will go far in determining what pheasant hunters will find afield come October.

The wolf population in the state is lower than it was in 2008, but DNR officials say they still plan to hold a wolf hunting and trapping season this fall and winter.

The boater who hasn’t heard about aquatic invasive species either hasn’t been paying attention, or has lived under a rock the past few years.

Today’s vote was 77-31 to override the restrictions Quinn wanted to write into the bill.
