LAKE MILLE LACS Most of the lake is covered with three inches of ice and there is five to seven inches in the bays. But this area received seven inches of wet, heavy snow on
LAKE MINNETONKA AREA Big lakes capped late last week and small lakes have four inches of ice. The only fishing reports have been off Lake Sarah and Medicine Lake where tip-ups and sucker minnows are
Lake Ontario: Increased flows have led to some good steelhead and brown trout in the tributaries. Try egg imitations or egg sacs. Oneida Lake: The shore walleye bite is still happening, with fish being caught
Fox Chain O’ Lakes: The channels have been producing good catches of panfish on small tungsten jigs tipped single spikes. There are few reports on walleyes and bass as the launches are all frozen over
Crab Orchard Lake: Anglers are reporting that crappies are being found at depths ranging from about 6 to 10 feet. Most are in heavy cover near points. The best baits have been minnows and jigs.
Powerton Lake: Smallmouths are being caught on crankbaits and small jigs. Good currents are reported in the discharge area. Bandits and inline spinners also are working. Shabbona Lake: Bluegills and crappies are being caught over
Kankakee River: Pike have been lively, and smallmouth bass have been biting near Momence on minnows and spinners. Fox River: The walleye bite is slow. Use minnow baits in the deeper holes and near bridge
