Weather conditions were more stable over the past week and that’s lead to some good walleye fishing.
Dave Dirks from Dirks Outdoors talks fishing in the Catskills and the importance of water temperatures when fishing there.
The wind has died down and the bug hatch is about done, so the walleye bite should be starting to pick up any day now on Lake Bemidji.
Another great week to be on the water, and the wind actually took a break for a change. We’re moving nicely towards summer patterns – and check out a couple new hot baits this week.
Lakes in most parts of the state are just now reopening. Due to this, reporting on some lakes and rivers is limited. But anglers who are getting out are reporting fast bass action.
Fishing reports still slow coming in, but those who are reporting say fishing mostly a mixed bag.
The hex hatch is on and big browns are hitting at night. Bass season opens Saturday on Lake St. Clair, where catch-and-release fishing has been very good.
Summer means bass fishing, and across New York, there are endless opportunities for fishing both largemouth and smallmouth bass. And, as “luck” would have it, the bass bite has been intensifying of late.
