It’s early, but anglers are starting to catch crappies and sunfish in boats and from shore.

The crappie bite is picking up. Here’s what we’re finding this week …
Ice-out is complete, so it’s time for slabs and river walleyes.

The spring steelhead bite in northeast Ohio rivers is the thing fishermen are talking about these days.

Recent winds stirred up Lake Michigan and curtailed effort. For those that got out, there was good coho action around Portage from the mouth of Burns Ditch to the Port.
As waters warm, crappie fishing heats up across the state. Good fishing for crappies has already been reported at a number of lakes.

How ice-out and shore fishing are coming along – it won’t be long before the ice is gone and it will be game on for open-water fishing.
