Most people seem to be prepping for the upcoming ice fishing season.

The night walleye bite on Lake Erie has been off the charts and northeast Ohio steelheading is going well, too.

Ice anglers, we may have to wait a bit as Mother Nature has given us a few decent days for late-season open-water fishing. Here’s what that might mean for those late-fall anglers.

With the exception of some diehard muskie and walleye fishing activity, there wasn’t much to report from anglers across the state this week.

Fishing pressure is light with most guys reporting a few steelhead and/or browns.

The few anglers still getting out are finding a very good perch bite in Lake St. Clair and Lake Huron’s Saginaw Bay.

Anglers are continuing to catch walleyes, yellow perch, and also steelhead on Lake Erie with regularity.

The bass fishing season is winding down. On the bright side, if you head out to fish bass – or any species, for the most part – you should have plenty of room to work

Trout fishing has been pretty good in most waters in recent weeks with stable conditions in the absence of storms.
