Perch have produced the hot bite in many areas of the state.

On Lake Michigan, when weather and ice conditions allow, some early coho and brown trout will be hanging around the hot water discharges, particularly at Gary Light.

Ice fishing on inland lakes in Ohio is the best right now than it has been in a few years.

Ice conditions are variable and the bite is mostly fair.

More than a month of consistently frigid temperatures more or less statewide has resulted in thick, fishable ice on most Pa. waters, with lots of good fishing across the state.

Warmer and more stable weather has definitely helped improve the bite around the area. Check out what anglers were using and where they were fishing.

A rare day when the temps were above freezing, although more tough weather on the way. Here’s how to navigate it and get to the fish. And what’s up with the bite?

Look for low and clear flows to prevail on the Oak for now and most hook ups at the dam or for a few careful drifters.

A higher percentage of anglers have started chasing bluegills and crappies rather than walleyes and they’ve found some success.
