On the doorstep of trout season, some anglers have been catching lots of crappies, mostly on live minnows under floats.

Fisheries across the state are mostly ice-free. As for the fishing success …

On Lake Erie tributaries over the past few days, fishing and conditions have been best during the early half of the day.

While there’s fewer people fishing, those going are catching crappies and bluegills in shallow water.

Ice fishing season is pretty much over in eastern South Dakota now, and most everyone is thinking about open water. This is especially the case with the Missouri River producing so many walleyes of late.

Flows, weather and fishing action are somewhat up and down. Nothing new about that for steelhead angling.

Ice is holding up on inland lakes. All kinds of fish roaming the flats.

A look at ice conditions and a bit of a preview on the upcoming shore-fishing season.

State’s lakes getting closer to spring conditions.
