Wisconsin NRB poses questions on DNR license fee increases
While most of the focus falls on Wisconsin DNR fish and wildlife questions or Conservation Congress advisory questions during the annual spring fish and game hearings, the Natural Resources Board (NRB) may also offer advisory questions of its own. This year the NRB is asking seven questions regarding possible DNR funding changes.

Removal of Mississippi River refuges, sturgeon are on Wisconsin DNR fish list of questions
The Wisconsin DNR’s fisheries bureau has just four questions on the Monday, April 13, spring hearing agenda – three related to the removal of three fish refuges on the Mississippi River that are no longer necessary, and a fourth question regarding a possible release season for sturgeon on three waters in Burnett County.
Elk tag, longer bow season highlight Wisconsin DNR wildlife questions
The Wisconsin DNR’s wildlife bureau has seven questions on the Monday, April 13, spring hearing agenda related to elk, sharp-tailed grouse, disabled hunters south of Hwy. 64, and a longer bow season, and more.

License fees among April 13 spring hearing agenda items in Wisconsin
The 2026 spring fish and game hearings will take place in each of Wisconsin’s 72 counties beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, April 13, this year with 44 questions from the Department of Natural Resources, Natural Resources Board, and Conservation Congress.
New this year, the congress also will consider citizen resolutions submitted during the in-person county spring hearings.

Wisconsin Conservation Congress questions for this year’s spring hearings
Formed in 1934, the Wisconsin Conservation Congress has been advising state natural resources agencies on fish and wildlife matters for more than 90 years.
Each year on the second Monday of April, the Conservation Congress, with five delegates in each of the state’s 72 counties, offers a list of advisory questions during the annual fish and wildlife hearings. If supported by the public, those proposals can come around the next year or two as DNR proposed rule changes.

2025 black bear take up 4% in New York
