Tribal harvest continues Garrison, Minn. State anglers will remain well below the 2000 walleye harvest quota of 300,000 pounds on Lake Mille Lacs. Tom Jones, large lake specialist for the DNR, said hook-and-line anglers had taken 215,000 pounds through the end of the September. Jones estimated that anglers had taken another 10,000 pounds during October.

The Minnesota DNR will host a series of public meetings in December to gather comment on proposed experimental regulations to improve bluegill populations on backwaters of the Mississippi River. Just when you thought things were pretty straightforward, it seems someone always throws a new twist into the mix. Check out the size of the bluegill in the accompanying photo.
