Steelhead fishing on the Lake Erie tributaries in northeast Ohio has been good through the late fall and early winter.

Teresa Croy, of Ottawa, Ohio, spent the early part of the day on Nov. 2, 2024, throwing all manner of plastics in attempt to catch a fish at the Glandorf Rod and Gun Club in Putnam County.

For the fourth year in a row, there were no fatalities during Ohio’s deer gun week, Dec. 2-8, according to the ODNR Division of Wildlife.

Located in Ohio’s Wildlife District Four is beautiful Salt Fork Lake. Positioned smack dab in the middle of our largest state park, Salt Fork is typically a bustling place all summer long. Recreational boaters and jet skis can often outnumber anglers 10 to one during the “on” season.
