Creel survey confirms walleyes now top target for many Michigan anglers

Walleyes are now the most harvested species in the Michigan waters of the Great Lakes, followed by yellow perch.
The findings are part of the 2025 Statewide Angler Survey Program. The program – better known by anglers as the creel survey – had some interesting results, which were shared recently by the Michigan DNR’s Fisheries Division.
