A bear attack occurred the morning of Oct. 5 in Solway Township, Minn., after a man confronted it for attacking his dog.
According to the incident report, the attack happened just after 4 a.m. Russell Thompson, 65, had let his three dogs out before heading to work, and one suddenly was attacked by a black bear. Thompson then ran to the bear and began to kick it as it held the dog down by its neck.
