Tyler Frantz: Bringing home a new bird dog an adventure in the making

Losing my first bird dog of 13 years was a long, slow burn of hurt. It took me two years to get over it. But where one chapter ends, a new one must begin, so after sitting out two full small-game seasons without a dog, it was finally time to do some page turning.
This past Christmas, I found myself longing for a new four-legged hunting buddy, which prompted a spontaneous online breeder search for springer spaniel pups once my kids finished unwrapping presents.
