There is more than one Duck Lake in New York State, but Cayuga County’s version stepped to the forefront back in 1998 when an angler caught a black crappie that established a new state record.
It was Kenneth Kierst whose 3-pound, 12-ounce black crappie caught the attention of anglers and DEC record keepers, and his mark stood for many years.
