A major habitat initiative is underway in the Moshannon State Forest just northeast of Parker Dam State Park, in Clearfield County, Pa. Boots-on-the-ground work began in 2025, with the first two areas cleared and planted early last summer.
Although tree cutting and soil preparation did not begin until 2025, the concept for the Fairview Woodland Savannah Project dates back to 2022.
