Extremely rare blue bullfrog spotted in Channahon, Illinois

A blue bullfrog was spotted at McKinley Woods in Channahon. The Aug. 30 sighting by Jen Carusi, who also was able to photograph the rare creature, caught the attention of wildlife fans across the Midwest.
A similar specimen found in Ohio in 2020 created a nationwide stir. The last reported sighting of a blue bullfrog in Illinois was in DuPage County in 2019.
