Lawmakers in Columbus are once again rallying efforts to officially declare the walleye as the state’s fish.
The last time around, the Ohio DNR Division of Wildlife said it would not take an official stand on either supporting or against the legislation. However, Division of Wildlife Chief Kendra Wecker mentioned House Bill 312 (HB 312) during Governor’s Fish Ohio Day activities at the end of her remarks.
