New York Reader Stories: Offseason preparation goes a long way in the whitetail woods

This past winter in the foothills of the Adirondacks around Johnstown was challenging to say the least.
One storm left us with several inches of snow and about an inch-and-a-half of ice. This along with wind gusts up to 55 miles an hour caused power outages and tree damage. The severe weather also impacted the deer herd.
