Bob Gwizdz: Is bass fishing really getting better on Michigan’s Lake St. Clair?

Back in the spring, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources put out a story with photos entitled: “The good times are now: Smallmouth bass fishing has never been better in Lake St. Clair.”
The first line of the story: “Now is the best time to be a bass angler on Lake St. Clair in the last 50 years.”
That’s a bold statement. Bass fishing on Lake St. Clair is excellent, sure enough, but it has been for at least 50 years.
