Bill Hilts, Jr.: Lower Great Lakes Office in New York conducting important work for native species and the habitat they call home

When it comes to native fish species such as lake sturgeon, lake trout, and brook trout (to name but a few), the Lower Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Conservation office located in Basom, N.Y., (part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and situated within the headquarters of Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge), is an important component to on-going research and habitat work.
The office is part of a network of field stations across the country dedicated to preserving, protecting and enhancing our natural resources. It’s too bad not too many people know about it.
