It was in the fall of 2019 when my friend Laura said “I have this buck that is a real jerk (not her exact word), It needs to go. Can you get rid of it for me?”
At that time Laura was the manager of the bookstore at the college where I work, and she knew from previous conversations that I was a deer hunter. She went on to explain that the “jerk” buck was causing serious damage to her fruit trees, was getting into her garden, and wasn’t intimidated by her dogs. She then pulled out her phone and showed me a picture of a really big 10-point buck standing in her yard.
